How to Break into Affiliate Home Based Business

There are a bunch of ways to get into affiliate marketing and succeed. Read on to learn some of the basics about affiliate marketing.

What you do in the affiliate business is basically promote other peoples products. Then for every sale your refer to your merchants you get a cut of the sale which could range from $20 to $100.

There are a few ways to get started if you do not have a lot of money to invest. You could set up your own affiliates sites, build Squidoo lenses, or get into bum marketing.

Setting up your own websites that are targeted to selling affiliate products is a great way to start out. There is not a lot of risk but it costs some money. It is not much, just 20$ for an account and then about $7 a month to keep your hosting account going.

With these sites you should start off by having a very good idea of what you want to promote, what the topic is, and what keyword you want to rank for in the search engines.

To find a great keyword to rank for you should go to a free keyword tool like google adwords tool. Then type in the very first keyword that comes to mind. If you want to promote a diet program then type in something like weight loss.

Then you will get s bunch of related keywords. Go down the list and see if you can find a keyword that is specific and it gets at least 3,000 searches a month. Pick this keyword then go to google and punch it in.

See if this keyword is profitable by checking on the right side of the page and see if there are many ads for it. If there is at least 5 then it should be profitable enough to build a site around it.

The affiliate marketing business takes time to perfect but once you get enough practice and are good to go then everything will work out fine. Just make sure you keep a drive at things.
